  • Karan Babbar is Assistant Professor in the Social Science and Humanities department at Jindal Global Business School. He holds a PhD in Innovation and Management in Education from Ravi J Matthai Centre for Educational Innovation (RJMCEI) at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He has also done his Bachelors in Technology in Computer Science Engineering from Maharshi Dayanand University.
    He is a quantitative researcher who specializes in using econometric and psychometric modelling. He works on the intersection of education and health, focusing on gender. His fields of research are Empirical Development Economics, Economics of Health, Economics of Gender, and Health Economics. His current work focuses on Menstrual Health and Hygiene, Fertility outcomes, Women’s Empowerment, LGBTQ Issues, Health & Sanitation, School Climate, Political Economy & Development. He has published in journals of international repute including The Lancet Public Health, British Medical Journal (BMJ), Social Science and Medicine, Journal of Social Issues, European Journal of Public Health and Waterlines.

    He critically engages with issues of social concern like gender, menstruation, etc. through media articles and panel discussion, and creating awareness about them on the social media platform.
