Dr. Krishanu Karmakar is an Associate Professor and the Assistant Dean of Executive Education at the Jindal School of Government and Public Policy, O.P. Jindal Global (Institution of Eminence Deemed To Be University).
Krishanu teaches courses on Public Finance, Statistics and Data Analysis, and Applied Econometrics. In the past he has taught Theories and Processes of Public Policy. His research focuses on theories of public budgeting, taxation, punctuated equilibrium theory, and change and dynamics of public policy. He is currently working on a project on the history of taxation. He has been a Visiting Fellow at the Brookings Institution India Center, New Delhi.
Krishanu received his Ph.D. in Public Policy from Georgia Institute of Technology and Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia, USA. At Georgia State University, he held a research assistantship at the International Center for Public Policy. Prior to joining O.P. Jindal Global (Institution of Eminence Deemed To Be University), he was a Visiting Instructor at the J. Mac Robinson College of Business at the Georgia State University. Before starting his Ph.D. Krishanu was a Junior Project Associate at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, New Delhi. He has got an M.A. in Economics from Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi.
