  • Ashwathy Nair graduated with an LL.M specialising in International Commercial Law from University College London in 2019. During her LL.M, she had the opportunity to analyse and compare the commercial laws in India and the U.K. She did her Bachelors from Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University. She was the secretary of the Moot Court Society and has taken part in several moot court competitions both National and International i.e., Philip C. Jessup & NLS-Trilegal International Arbitration Moot to name a few. She has done several internships in several well-known offices in Chennai & Bangalore and was selected as a law clerk in the offices of senior judges in the Hon’ble Madras High Court.

    On graduating, she enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of India in 2017 and thereon, worked as a Assistant Lecturer under the proficient guidance of a Senior Advocate specialising in Commercial Taxation before the Hon’ble Madras High Court. She is also a student member of the prestigious CIArb in London. Academics and work experience aside, she was part of the Indian Rowing Squad representing India at the Junior Asian Rowing Championship in 2012. She has rowed several International Regattas for the country as well as for her home club. She was also a National level swimmer who brought several laurels to her state.

  • Her interests are directed towards Cross Border M&A, Commercial Law and International Arbitration. Additionally, she is also absorbed in the much emerging areas of law such as Corporate Social Responsibility and Investment Treaty Arbitration.
