Dr. Sonal Dua holds a PhD in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. She received an M.A. degree in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University. She was awarded a Centre for Development Economics (CDE) fellowship from CDE, DSE; an Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) fellowship from ICSSR; and a Junior Research Fellowship from UGC during her PhD. Her research areas of interest lie in industrial economics, mergers and acquisitions, sharing economy, and empirical development economics. She is also an Assistant Dean for Executive and Online Education.
Before joining JSGP, she taught in several reputed colleges of the University of Delhi like Hansraj College, S.G.T.B. Khalsa College, Lakshmibai College and S.P.M. College. She has taught Microeconomics, Mathematics, Macroeconomics, and Principles of Economics courses. She has worked as a Research Associate on the project ‘Macro-econometric Modelling for India’ project at the Delhi School of Economics. She was also a member of the Indian delegation at the first BRICS Youth Summit held in Russia in 2015
