Selvaraj, Angel

Dr. Angel Selvaraj is an Assistant Professor at the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS), O. P. Jindal Global University.Her strong passion to assist the children and adults with various disabilities made her to excel as gold medallist in both her undergraduate and postgraduate studies. She carried out her doctoral studies in Social Skills in Children with Autism. Being trained from NIEPID (National Institute for the Empowerment for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities), Secunderabad, on psychological assessment for children with Special Needs, she has a strong expertise in carrying out psychological assessments and counselling for children, adults and parents of children with disabilities.

She is also trained and certified as Innovation Ambassador by Innovation and Incubation Council, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. She has qualified herself for the post of Assistant professor by clearing TNSET (Tamil Nadu State Eligibility Test) in Psychology and UGC-NET (National Eligibility Test) in Education. She works on the motto “Think Globally, Act Locally”.

She has been a resource person for various parents and teachers training programs, CRE (Continuous Rehabilitation Education) Programs, leadership and orientation programs for the college students. She has successfully completed the project on “Training young women talents in Innovation and Entrepreneurship” funded by Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development. Ministry of Youth Affairs and sports. Government of India. She has been an organizing committee member and an active participant of many National and international conferences and have presented research papers. She has carried short term research projects with children affected with Visual Impairment, Learning Disability and Autism.

Starting her career as a Lecturer in Saint Francis Home, Pathankot, she continued her teaching profession as an Assistant Professor in PG & Research Department of Holy Cross College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli. She has a sound knowledge in handling disability related papers, project management, Community based Rehabilitation, Therapeutics, Personality Development and Soft skills. During her tenure she coordinated the activities of Fine arts, Value Education, HEPSN (Higher Education for Persons with Special Needs). She has also taken up the responsibility as Activity Coordinator of HCIIC (Holy Cross Innovation and Incubation Council).
