Konina completed her Bachelor’s degree in Law from KIIT University, Bhubaneshwar with a specialization in criminal law. Her predilection for criminology and criminal justice propelled her to obtain a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Family and Social Welfare from University College London. Her dissertation was on the topic ‘Offender Rehabilitation Strategies in the United Kingdom and India: Emphasizing the Therapeutic Community way’ explores therapeutic justice of which she is an advocate.
She worked as an Academic Programme Coordinator at the Centre for Child Rights supported by UNICEF at National Law University Odisha where she was involved in research projects pertaining to child rights. During her time there she participated in symposiums and helped train members of Child Welfare Committee and Juvenile Justice Boards. She is a member of the International Society of Therapeutic Jurisprudence.
