overview

  • Bob Reader is joining the O.P. Jindal Global Law School faculty as Professor of Practice. He is completing his Intellectual Property LL.M. at Texas A&M School of Law, having completed his JD/MBA at University of Illinois, and his BS at Wichita State University.

He has taught Patent Law as well as Patents, Copyrights and Trademarks as an adjunct professor at Washburn College of Law. He has also taught International Business at Manhattan Christian College, and Advanced International Business and Business Strategy at Kansas State University.

Recently, he has been building and coaching social-impact businesses internationally, primarily in Southeast Asia. Previously he managed patent licensing and tech startups at Kansas State University, where he led negotiations on more than 100 IP transactions, managed over 1000 U.S. and foreign patents, coached 20 tech startups and created access to VC and angel investor capital. His early career was in environmental compliance with the chemical industry and the U.S. military.

For several years, he coached tech-based businesses in the Former Soviet Union as a part of U.S. CRDF. On a fun note, as a youth during the cold war, he served as “Kansas Youth Peace Ambassador” to the U.S.S.R., and liked to claim “mission accomplished.”

Bob has a large family, has been active in church and politics, and loves playing sports and the outdoors. He spent a quarter century at U.S. land-grant universities, and looks forward to serving at O.P. Jindal Global University with its mission of being a private, global university driven by a public service mission. Specifically, he hopes to contribute both to academic scholarship, and to public service in expanding an ecosystem for tech startups to flourish for the good of India, and globally.
