  • Prof. (Dr.) Mimi Roy is a Professor and Associate  Dean, International Collaborations, Jindal School of Liberal Arts and Humanities. Dr. Mimi Roy did her BS and MS in Geology from University of Calcutta. She got another MS in Environmental Geochemistry from West Virginia University in 2005 and a PhD in Environmental Science from West Virginia University in 2011. Dr. Roy has worked as a Research Fellow at Auburn University from 2011-2014 in the Department of Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences. Her research interests are different aspects of environmental pollution and human health risk assessments from exposure to different pollutants. She also works on sustainable development and particularly interested in environmental sustainability.

    At Auburn University she was part of several extension and outreach projects working closely with the local community and their problems. Dr. Roy has worked with the environmental effects of different toxic and carcinogenic metals like selenium, lead, cadmium, arsenic and zinc. Besides environmental pollution, Dr. Roy has worked on other problems including greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint, bioremediation, soil and nutrient management. She got the best research award from Sigma Xi for her research on selenium bioavailability in coal mines of West Virginia.
