  • Professor Soumyadip is an economist who works in the areas of Labour Economics, Applied Econometrics and Applied Microeconomics. He is also interested in questions of development economics and environmental economics. He has worked on the impact of covid on leisure, the relationship between active, passive leisure and health and is currently working on dairy farming in Haryana. At JGU, Professor Soumyadip has taught courses in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Business Statistics, Econometrics, Labour Economics and Corporate Governance.

    Apart from teaching and research, he heads the Masters programs at JSBF. He is the program coordinator for the M.Sc. Finance program and is involved in the design and delivery of the Ph.D Finance program.

    He is also a part of the Office of Student Welfare (OSW) at JSBF.

    Professor Soumyadip also has 5 years of experience working in the banking and finance industry, both in India and in the United States of America. Before joining JGU, he worked as Vice President, Fraud Risk for Citibank in Wilmington, Delaware, USA. He tries to bring a balance of theoretical and applied perspectives in his teaching and research, by drawing upon the unique industry experience he has gained.
