Rahul Desarda is an Assistant Lecturer at Jindal Global Law School. He is presently the Assistant Director of the Mahatma Gandhi Centre for Peace Studies, JGU. He holds an LL.M. (International Law) from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University as a Fletcher Committee Scholar. At Tufts, he served as a Graduate Research Assistant under Professor Carlos Alvarado Quesada, former President of Costa Rica. As part of the Tufts-Harvard collaboration, Rahul cross-registered at Harvard Law School to study “International Law of the Sea” and “Mitigating and Managing a Crisis”.
His diverse set of professional experiences includes a research assistantship under Professor James Kraska of Harvard Law School and the United States Naval War College and a judicial clerkship under Justice David Unterhalter of the Supreme Court of South Africa.
He achieved the distinction of qualifying for the international rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition for three consecutive years as a participant. In the following edition of Jessup, he coached the JGLS Team, which also qualified for the international rounds. For his contribution, he was honoured with the Best Mooter (Speaker) Award on the 13th University Day.
