  • Shilpa Bandyopadhyay, a PhD from IIT Delhi qualified UGC NET-JRF in November 2016, and is currently an Assistant Professor at the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences. In her PhD thesis she explored the aging experience, well-being and social media representation of older people in the Indian context. The primary areas of her research interest are Geropsychology, Positive Psychology, Environmental Psychology, and Interpersonal Relationships, and she hopes to explore different facets of these areas in her research journey. 

research overview

  • During the course of her PhD, she has worked as a Research Assistant and has been involved in multiple collaborative projects examining well-being related constructs in the Indian context. She has published her works in peer reviewed national and international journals of repute, and has presented them in well-recognized national and international conferences. She has been awarded the Prof. Deepak Bhat Award for Best Presentation in a Scientific Session at the annual conference of the Indian Academy of Applied Psychology in 2021 and 2022.

teaching overview

  • Shilpa has been a Teaching Assistant at IIT Delhi for courses such as Positive Psychology, Applied Positive Psychology, Selected Topics in Psychology, Psychological Testing and Behavioural Assessment. Additionally, she was a Teaching Assistant for the NPTEL course ‘Positive Psychology’ (July to September 2019) having 4967 enrolled learners.
