Ruchira Sen teaches Economics at Jindal School of Journalism and Communication. She obtained her Ph.D. in Economics in 2017 at the University of Missouri at Kansas City, USA. She has also studies at the Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi where she has obtained an M.A and M.Phil in Economics. Her main research interest are gender and the economy which includes evaluating unpaid work, global care chains and dowry systems as gift economies.

Her research interests includes Introductory Macroeconomics and Intermediate Microeconomics, History of Economic Thought and Political Economy of Race, Class and Gender.
