  • Kritika completed her BA LL.B. (International law Hons.) from Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, in 2015, pursuant to which she practiced as a civil litigator in Rajasthan High Court (Jodhpur Bench) for two years.
    She is enrolled with the Rajasthan Bar Council since 2015 and passed the All India Bar Exam in 2016.

    In 2018, Kritika completed her LL.M. in Access to Justice from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai where she worked with the Office of IG (Prisons), Mumbai and she developed an interest in themes of criminal justice, incarceration, and undertrial detention.

    Prior to her work with O.P. Jindal University, Kritika has worked with several civil society organizations working towards policy and research on prison reforms, and ancillary themes of access to legal aid, gender, and justice, incarceration, and juvenile delinquency, among others. She also worked as a researcher with the Supreme Court Committee on Prison Reforms, mandated to look into the appalling conditions of India’s prisons, particularly focusing on aspects of overcrowding, unnatural deaths, the inadequacy of staff, and inadequate training of prison staff and personnel.

    Over the course of her work, Kritika is particularly invested in studying the intersections of incarceration with access to healthcare, particularly mental health, reproductive and menstrual health, and the impact of incarceration on vulnerable categories of persons.
